C. If there is a problem with the APU start TRU, the APU battery supplies the 28 volts dc to turn the APU starter motor and energizes the APU controller. The APU battery is on the E33 equipment rack. For a more detailed description of the APU battery, refer to AMM 24-31-00/001.
8. APU Cooling Air System

A. The APU cooling air system has a cooling fan which supplies cooled air to the two ac generators, air-cooled oil cooler and APU compartment for compartment cooling. For a more detailed description of the APU cooling air system, refer to AMM 49-51-00/001.
9. APU Diverter and IGV Control System
___________________________________
A. The diverter and IGV control system controls the amount of bleed air to the airplane pneumatic system when electrical load is necessary for airplane operations. Bleed air that is not necessary by the airplane pneumatic system is bypassed through the diverter valve and into the APU exhaust duct. The APU diverter and IGV control system has the diverter valve, diverter valve control, rate sensor and inlet guide vane actuator. For a more detailed description of the APU diverter and IGV control system, refer to AMM 49-52-00/001.
10. APU Control System (Fig. 4, Fig. 5)

A. The APU control system controls the start, timed acceleration, on-speed governing, operation, bleed load control, surge control and shutdown sequences of the APU engine. The APU control system has the two speed sensors, six exhaust gas temperature (EGT) thermocouples, thermocouple trim box, three air temperature sensors, inlet pressure sensor, serial number identification unit, APU controller and two current transformers. For a more detailed description of the APU control system, refer to AMM 49-61-00/001.

11. APU EICAS Indicating System

A. The status or maintenance page on the engine indication and crew alerting system (EICAS) display shows the APU engine operation. Exhaust gas temperature (EGT), low pressure turbine rotor speed (N1), high pressure turbine rotor speed (N2) and APU oil quantity (OIL QTY) are the APU engine parameters shown on the status page of the EICAS display during an APU operation (AMM 31-61-00/201). Refer to table 2 for the data that shows on the maintenance page in alphabetical order. For a more detailed description of the APU EICAS indicating system and examples of an EICAS status page and an EICAS maintenance page, refer to AMM 49-71-00/001.
