The air inlet door for the APU is on the right side of the fuselage. It is between the horizontal stabilizer and the vertical stabilizer. The actuator for the inlet door is in the APU compartment on the forward side of the air inlet duct. You can get access to the actuator through the APU access doors.

Make sure the APU control switch on the P5 panel is OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6 Main Power Supply Panel
1) 6K18 APU ALTN CONT
(b)
P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center
1) AIR INLET DOOR
2) APU PRIMARY CONT
3) APU START

Open the APU access doors:
(a)
Open the latches on the APU access doors.
(b)
Open the APU access doors.
(c)
Engage the support rods for the APU access doors.

Do the deactivation of the air inlet door:
(a)
Remove the coverplate from the access hole on the actuator container for the manual override.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE TO SET THE TRANSFER SOCKET TO THE MANUAL
_______ POSITION BEFORE YOU OPERATE THE ACTUATOR WITH YOUR HANDS. DAMAGE TO THE ACTUATOR CAN OCCUR.
(b)
Turn the transfer socket for the electrical or manual operation to the MANUAL position.
