Put the APU on the APU cradle (Fig. 402).
(b)
Connect the rear part of the cradle to the lower holes of the two APU ground handling lugs (Fig. 401).
(c)
Put in the two quick-release pins to attach the front yoke to the cradle (Fig. 401).
(d)
Disconnect the two fishpole hoist cables or chains from the front yoke.
(e)
Disconnect the rear mount sling from the two ground handling lugs.

If the new or serviceable APU does not have the two APU generators installed, do these tasks for the removed APU: APU-Driven Generator Removal (AMM 24-21-03/401) and APU-Driven Generator Quick Attach-Detach (QAD) Ring Removal (AMM 24-21-02/401).

If the new or serviceable APU does not have the cone bolt support block installed, do this task for the removed APU: Cone Bolt Support Block Removal (AMM 49-13-06/401).

If the new or serviceable APU does not have the aft mount link installed, do this task for the removed APU: Aft Mount Link Removal (AMM 49-13-07/401).

NOTE:____ The APU sling assembly can be used as an alternative to remove the APU from the area.
(7) S 944-104Make sure you install all necessary protection covers.
