Remove the shockmount (10) from the support block for the cone bolt.
CAUTION: USE A RUBBER MALLET ON THE END OF THE CONE BOLT TO
_______ PREVENT DAMAGE. DAMAGE TO THE CONE BOLT THREADS CAN OCCUR.
1) If the cone bolt does not move freely, lightly hit the end of the bolt to loosen it.

D. Procedure
S 424-024
(1)
Install the APU aft shockmount (10):
(a)
Put the aft shockmount (10) on the beam with the cone bolt in the support block for the cone bolt.
(b)
Attach the shockmount (10) to the beam with the bolts (5), the washers (6), and the nuts (7): 1) Tighten the nuts to 50-70 inch-pounds (5.6-7.9
newton-meters).
(c)
Attach the vertical support tube to the shockmount (10) with the bolts (1), the washers (2), the bushings (4), and the nuts (3): 1) Tighten the nuts to 50-70 inch-pounds (5.6-7.9
newton-meters).
(d)
Install the cone bolt nut (9) and the washer (8):
1) Tighten the nut to 800-900 inch-pounds (90.4-101.7 newton-meters).
(e)
If you loosened the bolt that attaches the vertical support tube to the structure, tighten the bolt.

Remove the fishpole hoist and the sling from the APU compartment.

(3)
Close the APU access doors:
(a)
Disengage the support rods for the APU access doors.
(b)
Put the support rods in the clips on the inner side of the APU access doors.
(c)
Make sure the insulation covers correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.
(d)
Close the APU access doors.
(e)
Close the latches on the APU access doors.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

P6 Main Power Supply Panel
1) 6K18 APU ALTN CONT
(b)
P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center
1) APU PRIMARY CONT

(5) Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU control switch on the P5 panel.
