(13) If the APU maintenance page on the EICAS display is shown, make sure these start conditions occur:
(a) An N2 indication shows.
NOTE:____ An N2 indication will show on the EICAS display when
the starter motor starts to turn.
(b) The N1 rotor speed is 100 percent in one minute or less after
the starter motor starts to turn.
(c) The APU EGT does not go into the red area.

Make sure the "APU RUNNING" (in white letters) shows on the main EICAS display at the bottom of the last page.
(a)
If the APU stops, you can try to start the APU immediately if the N2 rotor speed is less than seven percent.
NOTE: If the APU does not get to full speed in the time
____ specified by the APU controller, the APU will shut down. When the APU stops, the "APU" will show on the main EICAS display.
1) Make sure you obey the duty cycles for the starter motor in table 201.
2) To start the APU immediately, set the APU control switch to the OFF position, then to the START position and then release to the ON position.

CAUTION: AFTER YOU PUSH ONE APU GENERATOR (APU GEN) SWITCH, WAIT A
_______ MINIMUM OF 6 SECONDS BEFORE YOU PUSH THE SECOND APU GENERATOR SWITCH. IF YOU PUSH THE SECOND APU GENERATOR SWITCH BEFORE THE WAIT TIME OF 6 SECONDS, DAMAGE TO THE APU GEARBOX CAN OCCUR.

When the AVAIL lights on the APU GEN 1 and APU GEN 2 switches come on, push the APU GEN 1 switch to the ON position, wait for a minimum of six seconds and then push the APU GEN 2 switch to the ON position.
