Open the APU access doors:
(a)
Open the latches on the APU access doors.
(b)
Open the APU access doors.
(c)
Engage the support rods for the APU access doors.

CAUTION: AN INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE HOISTS IN THE SLOTS CAN CAUSE
_______ THE HOISTS TO DISENGAGE AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE APU. THE FORWARD HOIST ATTACH POINTS ARE THE SAME. THESE ATTACH POINTS ENGAGE FROM THE FORWARD SIDE OF THE KEYHOLE BRACKET.

Install the yoke and the fishpole hoists (Fig. 401):
(a)
Wind off and examine the fishpole hoist cables or chains to make sure their condition is good.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU DO THE INSPECTION OF THE KEYHOLE SLOT AREA.
_______ A DAMAGED KEYHOLE SLOT AREA CAN CAUSE INCORRECT SUPPORT OF THE APU. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE APU.
(b)
Visually examine the keyhole slot areas with a flashlight to make sure their condition is good.
(c)
Attach the yoke to the APU mounting brackets.
(d)
Install the fishpole hoists into the keyhole slots in the top structure of the APU compartment.
(e)
Visually make sure the fishpole hoists are correctly installed in the keyhole slots.
(f)
Attach the fishpole hoists to the yoke.
(g)
Tighten the hoist cables or chains to hold the APU during the support removal.

Remove the axial support (12):
(a)
Remove the two nuts (7), the washers (2), the bushings (6), and the bolts (1) that attach the axial support (12) to the shockmount.
(b)
Remove the nut (7), the washers (2), the bushing (15), and the bolt (16) that attach the axial support (12) to the firewall bracket.
(c)
Remove the axial support (12).

(a)
Remove the nut (7), the washers (2), the bushing (6), and the bolt (1) that attach the vertical support (13) to the shockmount.
(b)
Remove the nut (7), the washers (2), the bushing (15), and the bolt (16) that attach the vertical support (13) to the firewall bracket.
(c)
Remove the vertical support (13).

Remove the nut (9), the washers (3), the bushing (5), and the bolt (4) that attaches the lateral support (14) to the left shockmount (8).
(b)
Remove the nut (9), the washers (3), the bushing (17), and the bolt (18) that attach the lateral support (14) to the firewall bracket.
