Make sure the APU control switch on the P5 panel is OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6 Main Power Supply Panel
1) 6K18 APU ALTN CONT
(b)
P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center
1) APU PRIMARY CONT

Open the APU access doors:
(a)
Open the latches on the APU access doors.
(b)
Open the APU access doors.
(c)
Engage the support rods for the APU access doors.

Do the borescope inspection of the cooling fan (Fig. 602):
(a)
Remove the two nuts and the washers that attach the borescope inspection cover to the cooling fan housing.
(b)
Remove the cover with the PWC 41416 puller.
1) Remove and discard the packing.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE FORCE TO INSTALL THE GUIDE TUBE. THE GUIDE TUBE MUST EASILY INSTALL IN THE PORT. DAMAGE TO THE GUIDE TUBE CAN OCCUR.
(c)
Put the PWC 41495 guide tube in the inspection port. 1) Attach the tube flange to the boss.
