Open the left access door to the fully open position and remove the two hold-open rods from the two clips.

 (c)  
Remove the two quick-release pins from the two brackets on the left APU compartment bulkhead.

 (d)  
Connect the two hold-open rods from the left access door to the two brackets and install the two quick-release pins.

 (e)  
Push the right access door up and remove the lanyard from the pin on the aft APU compartment bulkhead.

 (f)  
Open the right access door to the fully open position and remove the two hold-open rods from the two clips.

 (g)  
Remove the two quick-release pins from the two brackets on the right APU compartment bulkhead.

 (h)  
Connect the two hold-open rods from the right access door to the two brackets and install the two quick-release pins.

 WARNING:_______ DO NOT TOUCH THE IGNITION COMPONENTS UNTIL YOU DO THESE STEPS.
 THESE STEPS WILL RELEASE THE HIGH VOLTAGE FROM THE IGNITION
 EXCITER.  IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PROCEDURE, INJURY TO PERSONS

 CAN OCCUR.
 (4)  
Do these steps to release the high voltage from the ignition exciter (6):

 (a)  
Make sure six minutes have gone by since the last APU start.

 (b)  
Disconnect the electrical connector D95006 (P6) (7) from the ignition exciter (6).


 CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE BRAIDS OR FERRULES OF THE TWO IGNITION
_______ CABLES MOVE WHEN YOU LOOSEN THE TWO COUPLING NUTS. DAMAGE TO THE TWO IGNITION CABLES CAN OCCUR.
 (c)  Loosen the two coupling nuts on the two ignition cables (5) until you can disconnect the ignition cables.

Put the container below the flow divider and dump valve (4).

Do these steps to disconnect the fuel pressure tube (2) from the flow divider and dump valve (4):

 (a)  
Disconnect the fuel pressure tube (2) from the flow divider and dump valve (4).

 (b)  
Remove the transfer tube (3) and two packings (1). 1) Discard the two packings (1).

 (c)  
Drain the fuel from the fuel pressure tube (2) into the container.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
P6-2 Main Power Distribution Panel 1) 6K18, APU ALTN CONT

 (b)  
P83 Aft APU Equipment Control and Circuit Breaker Panel 1) APU PRIME CONT

 (8)  
Do these steps to dry motor the APU:

 (a)  
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU control switch on the P5 overhead panel.

 (b)  
Set the APU control switch to the START position and then release to the ON position.

 (c)  After you operate the APU for 30 seconds, set the APU control switch to the OFF position.
 NOTE: Make sure you obey the duty cycles for the starter

 motor in table 201.

 Do these steps to connect the fuel pressure tube (2) to the flow divider and dump valve (4):

 (a)  
Lubricate the two new packings (1) with a light coat of fuel.
