5. APU Fuel Drain Flame Arrester (Fig. 1)

A. The arrester consists of a housing, an explosion-proof element and provisions for connecting the drain tubing. Its element is made of corrugated steel tape contained in a manner that will allow unrestricted fuel drainage but will not allow a flame to enter the drain line.
B. The flame arrester is located at the lower end of a drain line just before it enters the drain mast. It passes any fuel drainage from the aft APU fuel line shroud.
