Open the APU access doors.
(c)
Engage the support rods for the APU access doors.

Remove the actuator container (5) from the air inlet duct:
(a)
Disconnect the electrical plug DM83 (4) from the receptacle on the actuator container (5).
(b)
Install caps on the electrical plug DM83 (4) and the receptacle to prevent contamination.
(c)
Loosen the V-band clamp (2).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ALL THE UNWANTED MATERIAL THAT FALLS
_______ INTO THE AIR INLET PLENUM DURING THE REMOVAL. IT CAN BE NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE ACCESS PANELS ON THE INLET PLENUM TO REMOVE THE UNWANTED MATERIAL. MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE THE MATERIAL BEFORE YOU OPERATE THE APU. A FAILURE TO REMOVE THE UNWANTED MATERIAL BEFORE THE APU OPERATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE APU.
(d)
Move the actuator container (5) until you can get access to the clevis plate (6) through the mounting hole in the air inlet duct.
(e)
Put your hand through the mounting hole and remove these parts that attach the link (1) to the clevis plate (6): 1) The bolt (7) 2) The washers (8) 3) The bushing (10) 4) The nut (9).
(f)
Remove the actuator container (5).

If it is necessary, remove the actuator (3) from the actuator container (5):
(a)
Remove the large locknut (20) from the end of the actuator (3).
(b)
Remove the screws (13), the washers (14), and the nut (15) from the electrical receptacle.
(c)
Remove the electrical receptacle from the container (5).

Remove the bolt (16), the nut (17), the washers (18), and the bushings (19) that attach the clevis (23) to the actuator (3).
(e)
Remove the actuator (3) from the actuator container (5).
