 APU AFT MOUNT ASSEMBLY - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains two tasks. The first task does a visual inspection of the aft mount assembly for the APU. The second task does an inspection of the dimensions of the parts for the aft mount assembly.
 B.  The aft mount assembly for the APU contains these parts:
 (1)  
The vertical support tube

 (2)  
The aft shockmount

 (3)  
The support block for the cone bolt

 (4)  
The aft mount links

 (5)  
The bushings and the bolts.

 C.  
You can only do the inspection of the dimensions when the APU is removed or when the load from the aft mount is removed.

 D.  
The visual inspection finds loose fasteners, corrosion, and damage.

 E.  
The aft mount assembly is on the top aft side of the APU. You can get access to the aft mount assembly through the APU access doors.

Make sure the APU control switch on the P5 panel is OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Open the APU access doors:

 (a)  
Open the latches on the APU access doors.

MAXIMUM AXIAL GAP IS 0.008 INCH (0.20 mm). MAXIMUM RADIAL GAP IS 0.005 INCH (0.13 mm).
