Connect the two hold-open rods from the right access door to the two brackets and install the two quick-release pins.

Procedure

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE IGNITION COMPONENTS UNTIL YOU DO THESE STEPS.
_______ THESE STEPS WILL RELEASE THE HIGH VOLTAGE FROM THE IGNITION EXCITER. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PROCEDURE, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
(1)
Do these steps to release the high voltage from the ignition exciter (6):
(a)
Make sure six minutes have gone by since the last APU start.
(b)
Disconnect the electrical connector D95006 (P6) (7) from the ignition exciter (6).
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE BRAIDS OR FERRULES OF THE TWO IGNITION
_______ CABLES MOVE WHEN YOU LOOSEN THE TWO COUPLING NUTS. DAMAGE TO THE TWO IGNITION CABLES CAN OCCUR.
(c) Loosen the two coupling nuts on the two ignition cables (5) until you can disconnect the ignition cables.

Put the container below the combustion chamber drain valve (8) on the gas generator case.

Disconnect the drain tube (9) from the combustion chamber drain valve (8) on the gas generator case.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P6-2 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6K18, APU ALTN CONT
(b)
P83 Aft APU Equipment Control and Circuit Breaker Panel 1) APU PRIME CONT

(5) S 862-040Do these steps to wet motor the APU: (a) Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU control switch on the P5 overhead panel. (b) Set the APU control switch to the START position and then release to the ON position. (c) Visually make sure that fuel comes out of the combustion chamber drain valve (8) on the gas generator case. (d) After you operate the APU for 30 seconds, set the APU control switch to the OFF position.
NOTE:____ Make sure you obey the duty cycles for the starter motor in table 201.
(6) S 862-041Make sure the APU control switch on the P5 overhead panel is OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(7) S 862-042Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags: (a) P6-2 Main Power Distribution Panel 1) 6K18, APU ALTN CONT (b) P83 Aft APU Equipment Control and Circuit Breaker Panel 1) APU PRIME CONT
(8) S 422-319Connect the drain tube (9) to the combustion chamber drain valve (8) on the gas generator case. (a) Tighten the drain tube (9) to 270-300 inch-pounds (30.5-33.9 newton-meters).
(9) S 482-320Put the container below the flow divider and dump valve (4).

Do these steps to disconnect the fuel pressure tube (2) from the flow divider and dump valve (4):
(a)
Disconnect the fuel pressure tube (2) from the flow divider and dump valve (4).
(b)
Remove the transfer tube (3) and two packings (1).
1) Discard the two packings (1).
(c)
Drain the fuel from the fuel pressure tube (2) into the container.
