_______ THESE ATTACH POINTS ENGAGE FROM THE FORWARD SIDE OF THE KEYHOLE SLOT BRACKET. THE AFT HOIST ATTACH POINT IS ABOVE AND TO THE RIGHT OF THE APU. THIS ATTACH POINT IS ON A BRACKET INSTALLED BETWEEN THE STRUCTURAL FRAMES AT STATIONS 2725.13 AND 2733.89. YOU MUST INSTALL THE FISHPOLE HOIST KEY AT THE AFT HOIST ATTACH POINT FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE KEYHOLE SLOT BRACKET.
 CAUTION: THE ATTACH POINT FOR THE SUPPORT STRAP AND APU
_______ EXHAUST PIPE IS APPROXIMATELY 13 INCHES (33 CM) AFT OF THE AFT FISHPOLE HOIST ATTACH POINT. THIS ATTACH POINT IS ON THE TOP CENTERLINE OF THE AIRPLANE FRAME. DO NOT USE THIS ATTACH POINT TO ENGAGE THE AFT FISHPOLE HOIST KEY.
 2) Install the three fishpole hoists in the keyhole slots in the top structure of the APU compartment. 3) Make sure the three fishpole hoists are correctly installed in the keyhole slots. 4) Attach the two forward fishpole hoist cables or chains to the left and right front yokes. 5) Connect the rear mount sling to the two ground handling lugs on the sides of the APU.

 6)  Connect the rear mount sling to the aft fishpole hoist cable or chain.
 (b)  Install the APU hydraulic jackstand (optional to the three fishpole hoists) (Fig. 402): 1) Put the hydraulic jackstand on the platform of the scissors
 lift.
 2)  Use a forklift to set the APU stand assembly on the hydraulic jackstand.
 3)  Attach the cradle to the hydraulic jackstand with the four bolts and four nuts.
 4)  Turn the four handles of the crank-down stabilizers clockwise until the four crank-down stabilizers touch the platform.
 5) Disconnect the yoke from the cradle.
 6) Attach the yoke to the forward mounts on the APU.
 7) Make sure the cradle correctly engages the saddle.
 8) Install the safety pins.
 9) Connect the rear part of the cradle to the two ground

 handling lugs on the sides of the APU.

 (2)  
Install the support strap on the APU exhaust duct (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Install the support strap on the APU exhaust duct.

 (b)  
Attach the support strap to the keyhole slot bracket above the APU exhaust duct.

 NOTE: The attach point for the support strap and APU exhaust
____ pipe is approximately 13 inches (33 cm) aft of the aft fishpole hoist attach point. This attach point is on the top centerline of the airplane frame.
 (c)  Adjust the turnbuckle until the support strap can hold the weight of the APU exhaust duct.

 (3)  
Remove the load from the APU mounts:

 (a)  
Fishpole Hoist Procedure

 1)  Wind and tighten the three cables or chains of the three fishpole hoists sufficiently to remove the weight of the APU from the APU mounts.

 (b)  
Hydraulic Jackstand Procedure

 1)  Use the hydraulic jackstand to lift the APU sufficiently to remove the weight of the APU from the APU mounts.

 (4)  Remove the V-band clamp (7) that connects the exhaust duct to the APU (Fig. 404).

 G. APU Removal
 S 024-077
 (1)  
Remove the APU (1) from the APU compartment (Fig. 403):

 (a)  
Remove the two cone bolt nuts (5) and two washers (4) from the forward left and right shockmounts (2).

 (b)  
Remove the cone bolt nut (8) and washer (7) from the aft shockmount (6).

 (c)  
Install the three thread protectors on the three cone bolts (3).

 CAUTION: DURING THE REMOVAL OF THE APU, DO NOT HOLD THE EGT
_______ THERMOCOUPLE HARNESS. THE HARNESS AND THE PROBES FOR THE EGT THERMOCOUPLE CAN BE EASILY DAMAGED IF THEY ARE UNUSUALLY STRESSED.
 (d)  Lower the APU (1) from the APU compartment.
