(1)
Put the 1 gallon (4 liter) container below the drain mast and the three fuselage drain outlets.

Do this task: "APU Starting and Operation" (Ref 49-11-00/201).

Do the check of the APU drain system:
(a)
Let the APU engine operation become stable.
(b)
During the engine operation, examine the drain mast and the three drain outlets for drops of fluid.
(c)
Write down the length of time of the engine operation.
(d)
If you see drops of fluid, do these steps: 1) Identify the drain line the fluid comes out of. 2) Write down the number of drops that drain out during the
engine operation.

(4) Do this task: "APU Usual Shutdown" (Ref 49-11-00/201).
NOTE: When you do the APU shutdown, fuel can drain out the fuel
____ system outlet from the flow divider/dump valve. This is a permitted shutdown condition.

Remove the container that is below the drain mast and the three drain outlets.

(6)
Use the engine operation time and the quantity of fluid to find the leakage rate.

Make sure the leakage rate is in the permitted limits shown in Table
601.

Do these steps if the leakage rate is not in the permitted limits: 1) Do this task if it is necessary: "Leakage Source Isolation"
(Ref par. 3). 2) Do the repair steps for the leak (Ref Table 601).

3. Leakage Source Isolation (Fig. 602)________________________
A. General
(1)
Some of the drain lines connect to more than one component. You must isolate the source of the leakage if the leakage is from this type of drain line. This task isolates the source component for this type of drain line.

Standard Tools and Equipment
(1)
Container - 1 cup (250 cc) capacity, for fuel and oil (quantity necessary to isolate the drain sources)
(2)
Cylinder - With graduations, 250 cc capacity, 1 cc divisions, for fuel and oil
