 6)  Drill new retainer bolt holes on the flap.
 7)  Install the seal on the flap.
 a)  Make sure the seal aligns on the flap.
 (h)  Make sure the seal touches the engine strut, but not the top 7
 to 11 inches of the seal at the full extension of the flaps.
 (i)  Cut the outboard edge of the folding fairing using Trim
 Procedure A or B (SB 57-2268) as needed.
 (j)  Turn the ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET switch to the RET position.
 (k)  Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch to put the flap system back to
 the usual control.
 (l)  Turn the ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET switch to the OFF position.
 (m)  With the LE flaps fully retracted, make sure the distance
 between the recess in the leading edge and seal is 0.09 (|0.03)
 inches.

 Move the flap control lever to a minimum of 5 unit detent to extend the LE flaps.

 Do a check on the retract stop clearance:

 (a)  
Push a small rod through the hole of the retract stop bolt to extend the clearance indicator pin 0.15-0.20 inch (Section E-E, Fig. 402).

 (b)  
Put the flap control lever in the full UP detent then the 5 unit detent to operate the flaps.

 (c)  
Measure the height of the clearance indicator pin.

 (d)  
Make sure the clearance of the retract stops is not more than the specified limit (Section D-D, Fig. 402). 1) If the clearance is more than the specified limit, adjust

 the retract stop bolt.
 a) Move the washers until you get the correct clearance.
 b) Push the indicator pin to the stop bolt head.


 (e)  
Install the lockwire on the coupling bolts after you get the correct clearance.

 (22) Put the flap control lever in the full UP detent to retract the LE flaps.
