Do the test of the spoiler operation.
(a)
Move the thrust levers 1 or 3 forward of the 27-degree forward thrust (23.2 degrees Thrust Resolver Angle (TRA)).
(b)
Put the speed brake lever in the DOWN position. 1) Make sure that all spoilers are in the down position.
(c)
Put the speed brake lever in the FLIGHT position. 1) Make sure that spoilers No. 3, 4, 9 and 10 extend to approximately the 45-degree position.
2) Make sure that spoilers No. 5 thru 8 extend to approximately the 20-degree position.
(d)
Put the speed brake lever in the UP position. 1) Make sure that spoilers No. 1, 2, 11 and 12 extend to the 45-degree position.
2) Make sure that spoilers No. 5 thru 8 extend to the 45-degree position.
(e)
Turn the aileron control wheel clockwise and counterclockwise. 1) Make sure the spoilers do not extend more.
(f)
Put the speed brake lever in the DOWN position. 1) Make sure that all spoilers fully retract.

Remove the ceiling lining panel on the left side at station 325 (AMM 25-59-01/401).

Put the speed brake lever in the DOWN position.

Clean the speed brake mechanism:
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE SOLVENT IN YOUR MOUTH OR EYES, OR ON YOUR
_______ SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE SOLVENT FUMES. KEEP THE SOLVENT AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME, AND HEAT. THE SOLVENT IS POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a)
Apply the solvent to the mechanism and the locking arm shoes.
(b)
Clean off the dirt from the mechanism.
(c)
Dry the speed brake mechanism with a clean cloth.
