_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(7) Make sure the flap control lever is in the 5 unit detent.
NOTE: This check will make sure the flaps will not move suddenly

when you supply hydraulic or pneumatic power.

(9) Do this task: "Supply Pneumatic Power" (AMM 36-00-00/201).

CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE THAT YOU ADJUST THE FLAP LINKAGE ACCURATELY. THE POWER DRIVE UNIT OF THE LE FLAP WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY IF THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE FLAP LINKAGE IS NOT ACCURATE.

Do a check to see if the flap linkage on the flap with the drive shaft installed is in the specified limits (Fig. 402).
(a)
Use dimension X if you use the rigging bar or dimension Y if the tool is not available.
(b)
Examine all the other linkages from the location where you replaced the drive shaft.
(c)
On the krueger flaps, make sure the arms of the rotary actuator do not touch the actuator links of the flap. 1) Do this task to adjust the krueger flap rotary actuator if
it is necessary: "Krueger Flap Rotary Actuator Installation" (AMM 27-81-06/401).
CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE TO INSTALL LOCKWIRE ON THE COUPLING SCREWS. IF THE COUPLING SCREWS COME OFF, THE TORQUE TUBE COUPLING CAN DISCONNECT AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE.
(d)
Install the lockwire on all the coupling screws.
(e)
Move the flap control lever to the full UP detent to retract the flaps.
(f)
Make sure that the flaps align.

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains the task to do: Inspection of the drive shaft spline teeth and Inspection of the drive shaft for loose rivets.
B. AIRPLANES WITH ELECTROMAGNETIC FORMING (EMF) END FITTINGS; No play is permitted on EMF end fitings. If the end fittings do become loose, replace the torque tube (AMM 27-81-05/401).
