Do this task: "Trailing Edge Flap Deactivation" (AMM 27-51-00/201).

Set all FLT CONTROL HYD POWER WING switches on the P461, Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel to SHUTOFF.
(a)
Make sure that the four VALVE CLOSED lights come on.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P180, DC Power Distribution Panel
1) 180H7, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 1
2) 180E6, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 2
3) 180H22, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 3
4) 180E21, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 4
(b)
P6, Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6J21, SPLR/ALRN IND
2) 6J20, SPLR/ALRN SENSOR

Get access to the applicable transmitter.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the position transmitter: DT435 No. 4 Spoiler Transmitter DT436 No. 12 Spoiler Transmitter

Disconnect the bonding jumper from the transmitter.

Remove the transmitter assembly:
(a)
Remove the nut, washer, and screw that attach the control rod to the crank.
(b)
Remove two screws, washers, and nuts that attach the transmitter bracket to the bracket on the wing rear spar.
(c)
Remove the transmitter, the bracket, and the crank assembly from the airplane.

Disassemble the transmitter assembly:
(a)
Remove the crank from the transmitter shaft.
1) Remove the shaft clamping screw from the crank.
2) Remove the crank.
(b)
Remove the transmitter from the bracket.
1) Loosen the transmitter clamping screws.
2) Remove the inner clamping screw.
3) Remove the transmitter from the bracket.
