D. Prepare for Removal

(1) Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

CAUTION: DO NOT ELECTRICALLY EXTEND OR RETRACT THE FLAPS MORE THAN ONE
_______ TIME IN 5 MINUTES. DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR CAN OCCUR IF THE MOTOR BECOMES TOO HOT.
(2)
Extend the Krueger flaps electrically:
(a)
Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch on the center panel to put the flap system in alternate control.
(b)
Turn the ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET switch to the EXT position.

For the applicable system, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

Remove the Krueger Flap

(1)
If it is necessary to remove the folding fairing, hold and remove the folding fairing (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the bonding jumpers (3) between the folding fairing and the Krueger flap.
(b)
Remove the bolts (24) that connect each link assembly to the folding fairing.
(c)
Remove the bolts (21) that connect the folding fairing (27) to the Krueger flap (1).
(d)
Remove the folding fairing (27) from the airplane.
