_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC AND PNEUMATIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

 (4)  
Make sure the flap control lever is in the UP detent and the LE flaps are fully retracted.

 (5)  
Monitor the extension of group A LE flaps:

 (a)  
Move the flap control lever to the 1-unit detent.

 (b)  
Make sure the FLAPS display shows on the main EICAS. 1) Make sure the flap indicator bar shows in magenta color when the group A LE flaps start to move.

 2)  Make sure the flap indicator bar changes to green color when the group A LE flaps are extended.

 (c)  
Monitor the LE flap PDUs on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page: 1) Make sure that the 6 inboard indications show INT when the

 group A LE flaps move. 2) Make sure the 2 outboard indications show RET. 3) Make sure the 6 inboard indications show EXT when the group
 A LE flaps are extended.

 (6)  
Monitor the extension of group B LE flaps:

 (a)  
Move the flap control lever to the 5-unit detent.

 NOTE: The EICAS caution message FLAPS PRIMARY and the status
____ message TE FLAPS will show after you move the flap control lever.
 (b)  Monitor the LE flaps on the main EICAS: 1) Make sure the 2 outboard LE flap boxes show a white
 crosshatched when the group B LE flaps move. 2) Make sure the 4 inboard LE flap green boxes stay the same. 3) Make sure the 2 outboard LE flap boxes change to green
 boxes when the group B LE flaps are extended.
 (c)  Monitor the LE flap PDUs on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page: 1) Make sure the 2 outboard indications show INT when the
 group B LE flaps move.

Make sure the 6 LE flap boxes show a white crosshatched when the LE flaps move.

Make sure the EICAS flight controls maintenance page shows INT when the LE flaps move.

 (d)  
Make sure the 2 outboard indications on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page show RET when the group B LE flaps are retracted.

 (e)  
Make sure the 8 LE flap indications on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page show RET when the LE flaps retract.

 (10)
 If the electrical power is not necessary, do this task: "Remove Electrical Power" (Ref 24-22-00/201).
