WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE
_______ AND TE FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a)
Move the flap control lever to the 5 unit detent to extend the LE flaps.
(b)
Push a small rod through the hole of the retract stop bolt to extend the clearance indicator pin 0.15-0.20 inch (Section A-A, Fig. 401).
(c)
Move the flap control lever to the full UP detent then the 5 unit detent to operate the flaps pneumatically.
(d)
Measure the height of the clearance indicator pin.
(e)
Make sure the retract stop clearance is 0.04-0.10 inch (Detail B, Fig. 401). 1) If it is necessary, move the washers to adjust the retract
stop bolt to get the correct clearance.
(f)
When you get the correct clearance, push the indicator pin in until it aligns with the head of the stop bolt.
(g)
Install the lockwire on the coupling bolts.
(h)
Move the flap control lever to full UP detent to retract the LE flaps.

OFFSET GEARBOX - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General

A. This procedure contains the task to do a check of the krueger flap offset gearbox. The procedure measures the fit of the coupling half/pinion, pinion/gearbox and the axial play of the drive shaft (Fig. 601).
B. An offset gearbox is installed adjacent to the two drive units of the Krueger flaps.
