Attach the Krueger flap (1) to the rotary actuators (5) with the bolts (4, 11, and 12), bushings (6), washers (7 and 13), antirotation clip (10) and nuts (8 and 14) (Section B-B, Fig. 401).
(g)
Tighten the nuts to 290-410 pound-inches.
(h)
Install the bonding jumper (2) on each hinge (15).

_______ LE FLAP SAFETY LOCKS. THE LE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT DO THE STEPS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Do this task: "Safety Lock Removal and Leading Edge Flap Activation" (AMM 27-81-00/201).

CAUTION: DO NOT ELECTRICALLY EXTEND OR RETRACT THE FLAPS MORE THAN ONE
_______ TIME IN 5 MINUTES. DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR CAN OCCUR IF THE MOTOR BECOMES TOO HOT.

For the applicable system, Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

(6) S 864-041Operate the Krueger flaps electrically: (a) Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch. (b) Turn the ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET switch to the RET position then the EXT position. (c) Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch to put the flap system in the usual control. (d) Turn the ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET switch to the OFF position.
(7) S 714-016Make sure the flap moves smoothly with no unusual noise.
(8) S 094-017Remove the safety locks from all the flaps.
(9) S 864-018Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Move the flap control lever to a minimum of 5-unit detent to extend the trailing edge flaps.

Do this task: "Supply Pneumatic Power" (AMM 36-00-00/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED , THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Move the flap control lever to the full UP detent to retract the LE flaps pneumatically.

Do a check of the difference between the aft end of the flap and the wing structure (Detail B, Fig. 402):
NOTE: The difference must be | 0.02 inch for 75% of the flap span
____ and | 0.04 inch for 25% of the span.
(a)
Move the flap control lever to the 5-unit detent to extend the Krueger flaps.
(b)
Remove the shims attached to the structure.
