Install the Krueger Flap Rotary Actuator
S 424-013
(1)
Install the rotary actuator (Fig. 401):
(a)
Apply a layer of the corrosion preventive compound to the bolts, nuts and bolt holes.
(b)
Align the actuator mounting holes with the structural fittings.
(c)
Install two mounting bolts (2) and four washers (3).
(d)
Install the self-locking nuts (4).
(e)
If you use rigging tool 12MIT65B04017, install the rotary actuator as follows: 1) Adjust the retract stop:
a) Install the tool hinge pins in the ends of the flap hinge bolts to attach the rigging tool (Fig. 402). b) Connect the tool links to the rotary actuator arms with the pins. c) Manually turn the actuator to the retracted position until the rigging bar touches the lower wing structure. d) Move the shims until you get a distance of 0.03 to 0.05 inch between the structure and the stop.

2) Make sure the LE flaps are in the pneumatic extended position. 3) Make a mark on the actuator spline tooth and the adjacent
structure. 4) Remove the rigging tool. 5) Manually turn the rotary actuator in the extended direction
25 times plus 7 spline teeth. 6) Connect the drive shafts (5) to the rotary actuator (1). 7) Align the actuator link (10) with the rotary actuator (1). 8) Attach the rotary actuator to the link with the washer (7),
bushing (9) and bolts (6), (Section A-A, Fig. 401). 9) Tighten the nuts (8) to 290-410 pound-inches.
(f) If you use rigging set G27013, install the Krueger flap rotary actuator as follows: 1) Align the actuator link (10) with the actuator arm (1). 2) Attach the rotary actuator to the actuator link with the
washer (7), bushing (9) and bolts (6), (Section A-A,
Fig. 401). 3) Tighten the nuts (8) to 290-410 pound-inches. 4) Make sure the flap control lever is in the 5-unit detent. 5) Hold the applicable G27013 gage by hand against the points
between the rotary actuator and actuator link (Fig. 402). 6) Manually turn the rotary actuator to the full extension until it touches the G27013 gage. 7) Connect the drive shafts (5) to the rotary actuator (1).
