Remove the third center ceiling panel forward of the main entry door No. 1 (AMM 25-59-01/401).

Remove the switch:

 (a)  
Remove the forward checknut from the switch.

 (b)  
Disconnect the electrical wires from the switch.

Procedure


 S 424-006
 (1)  
Install the switch:

 (a)  
Put the switch in its position on the bracket.

 (b)  
Install the checknut.

 (c)  
Connect the electrical wires to the switch.

 (2)  
Adjust the switch with the bushing G27018 or MIT61B04016.

 (a)  
Move the speed brake lever to the full UP position.

 (b)  
Move the speed brake lever to the full DOWN position.

 (c)  
Connect an ohmmeter or a continuity test light across the electrical wires at the switch.

 (d)  
Move the speed brake lever to the FLIGHT position.

 (e)  
Install the bushing on the cam roller.

 (f)  
Move the speed brake lever until the bushing touches the cam ramp.

 (g)  
Adjust the switch until you get continuity through the switch.

 (h)  
Remove the bushing from the cam roller.

 (i)  
Tighten the checknuts on the switch.

 (3)  
Adjust the switch without the bushing G27018 or MIT61B04016.

 (a)  
Move the speed brake lever to the full UP position.

 (b)  
Move the speed brake lever to the full DOWN position.

 (c)  
Connect an ohmmeter or a continuity test light across the electrical wires at the switch.

 (d)  
Adjust the switch until you get continuity through the switch.

 (e)  
Move the switch 0.07 to 0.09 inch (1.78 to 2.29 mm) closer to the striker plate.

 (f)  
Tighten the checknuts on the switch.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7G6, SPEED BRAKE AUTO CONT

Automatic Speed Brake Arm Switch Operational Test

 (1)  
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Monitor the thrust resolver angle (TRA) on the EICAS EPCS
 maintenance display (AMM 45-10-00/201).

 (3)  
Put the No. 1 and 3 thrust levers in a thrust position of more than 27 degrees (62.7 degrees TRA).

 (4)  
Put the speed brake lever in the ARMED position.
