Install the Ground Spoiler Control Package

Make sure that pressure is released from hydraulic system No. 4.

Install the control package:
(a)
Make sure the piston on the control package is fully retracted.
(b)
Put the control package (1) in its position and install the four bolts (6), washers (8) and nuts (7).
(c)
Tighten the nuts to 870-1300 pound-inches.
(d)
Seal the bolts with the sealant.
(e)
Connect the hydraulic lines (2, 3, 4, and 5) to the control package (1): 1) Remove the caps from the hydraulic lines and the ports of
the control package. 2) Connect the hydraulic lines to the control package.

Extend the piston of the control package:
(a)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
1) P180, DC Power Distribution Panel a) 180E22, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 4
(b)
Put the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER - WING switch on the pilots' overhead panel, P5, to the NORM position.
(c)
Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems No. 4: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(d)
Make sure the piston of the control package is clear of the structure.
(e)
Slowly move the speed brake lever to the UP position to extend the piston of the control package.
WARNING: DO NOT PUT A PART OF YOUR BODY BETWEEN THE SPOILER AND THE
_______ WING UNLESS THE SPOILER ACTUATOR IS LOCKED OR THE HYDRAULIC POWER IS RELEASED. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(f) Manually lift the spoiler to the up position.

Lock the spoiler in the up position.
(h)
Do this task to depressurize hydraulic system No. 4: "Hydraulic System Depressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Connect the control package to the spoiler:
(a)
If it is necessary, install the antirotation plate (10), with the bolt (16), washers (9), and nut (11).
(b)
Connect the piston rod end of the control package (1) to the spoiler with the bolt (12), bushings (13), washer (15) and nut (14). 1) Tighten the nut to 1200-1500 pound-inches (136-170 Nm) more
than the run-on torque. 2) Tighten the nut (11) if it is necessary.

Do this task to pressurize hydraulic system No. 1 and 4: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Move the speed brake lever to bleed the spoiler control package.

Make sure there are no leaks at the control package connections.

Examine the Spoiler to Flap Clearance
(1)
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(2)
Put the speed brake lever in the UP position to lift all spoilers.

NOTE: With the spoilers up, the trailing edge flaps will not touch

the spoilers when you retract the flaps.
