_______ BEFORE YOU MOVE THE REVERSE THRUST LEVERS. THE ENGINE THRUST REVERSER SLEEVES WILL OPEN IN 1 1/2 SECONDS AND CLOSE IN 4 1/2 SECONDS WHEN YOU OPERATE THE LEVERS. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(6) Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and No. 4: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).
NOTE: Hydraulic power is not necessary if you use the reverse

(7) Extend the trailing edge flaps to a minimum of 5 unit detent.

Examine if the flap contour at the aft edge of the flaps is in the specified limits (Detail A, Fig. 401).

(a)
Adjust the contour if it is out of tolerance: 1) Move the flap control lever to the 5 unit position to extend the LE flaps. 2) Disconnect the drive shafts adjacent to the rotary

actuator. 3) Turn the actuator spline in the applicable direction.
NOTE: The flap trailing edge will move 0.054 inch with one
____ spline tooth turn.
a) Hold the other drive shaft linkages to prevent adjustment changes to these linkages.
4) Connect the drive shaft to the actuator.
5) Install the coupling with screws.
6) Install the lockwire.
7) Move the flap control lever to the full UP detent to retract the LE flaps. 8) Examine the flap contour again.

Do a check on the retract stop clearance:

NOTE: If it is necessary, do this check again until you get the

(a) Push a small rod through the hole of the retract stop bolt to extend the clearance indicator pin 0.15 to 0.20 inch (Section C-C, Fig. 401).

(b)
Operate the flaps pneumatically. 1) Move the flap control lever to the full UP position. 2) Move the flap control lever to the 5-unit detent.

(d)
Move the washers to adjust the retract stop until you get the correct clearance.

(e)
Push the indicator pin to the stop bolt head.

(f)
Install the lockwire on the coupling bolts.

(g)
Move the flap control lever to full UP detent to retract the LE flaps.
