 6) Tighten the checknuts on links CD 70-100 pound-inches. 7) Install the lockwire through the checknut, washer and rod
 end. 8) Align links CD and FEBC. 9) Install the bolt, washers, spacer and nut. 10) Tighten the nut 400-600 pound-inches.

 Remove the safety locks and reactivate the leading edge flaps (Ref 27-81-00/201).

 Do a check to make sure the flaps installed are not out of
 tolerance.


 (a)  
Move the flap control lever to the 5 unit detent to extend the flaps.

 (b)  
Make sure the distance between the flap linkage and the structural stop is 0.04-0.12 inch.

 (c)  
Make sure the distance between the flap to the folding fairing is not out of tolerance (Fig. 501).

 (d)  
Make sure the flap seals are not out of tolerance (Fig. 501). 1) If the flap seals are out of tolerance, adjust the seals.

 (e)  
Make sure the adjacent flaps are approximately aligned.

 (f)  
Make sure the adjacent flaps are not out of tolerance when the flaps extended. Refer to step A.(2)(b).

 H.
Adjust the Krueger flaps (Fig. 504).

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE TO EXTEND THE FLAPS PNEUMATICALLY DURING THE
_______ ADJUSTMENT OF THE LE FLAPS. THE FLAPS WILL NOT EXTEND FULLY IF YOU EXTEND THE FLAPS ELECTRICALLY. THIS WILL CAUSE AN INACCURATE ADJUSTMENT TEST AND STRUCTURAL DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
 (1)  Move the flap control lever to the 5 unit detent.

Remove pneumatic power (Ref 36-00-00/201) after the flaps extended. S 495-038

 THE LOCKS CORRECTLY.

Deactivate the extended leading edge flaps and install safety locks (Ref 27-81-00/201).

 (4)  
If adjustment of all the flaps on a drive unit is necessary and you use rigging tool 12MIT65B04017, do these steps:

 (a)  
Disconnect all the drive shafts on the adjusted flap.

 (b)  
Disconnect all the flaps from the rotary actuators.

 (c)  
Install the rigging tool at each rotary actuator. 1) Attach the rigging tool to the flap hinge points. 2) Put the tool hinge pins into the ends of the flap hinge

 bolts. 3) Connect the tool links to the rotary actuator arm with pins.

 (d)  
Manually move the rotary actuator until the rigging tool touches the wing structure.

 (e)  
Attach the drive shaft to the actuator.

 (f)  
Adjust the retract stop (Fig. 506) to get a clearance of 0.03-0.05 inch.
