Install the Krueger Flap
NOTE: If you want to make a new (No. 11 or No. 16) flap or folding
____ fairing you can use the old one(s) that you removed as a guide to get the new one(s) close to the required size and interference clearances (SB 57-2268).

Do this task if you install used bolts or bushings: "Krueger Flaps Inspection/Check" (AMM 27-81-01/601).

If you removed the folding fairing (27), install the folding fairing (27):
(a)
Set the folding fairing (27) in its position.
(b)
Attach the folding fairing to the krueger flap (1) with the bolts (21), washers (23 and nuts (22).
(c)
On Krueger flaps No. 11 and 16, tighten all the bolts but the center attachment point (between the krueger flap and the folding fairing) to 95-110 pound-inches.
(d)
Attach each link assembly (29) to the folding fairing (27) with the bolts (24), washers (25), bushings (28) and nuts (26).
(e)
Connect the bonding jumpers (3) between the flap (1) and the folding fairing (27).

Install the Krueger flap (Fig. 401):
(a)
Install the bushings (18) in the structural hinge fittings (Section A-A, Fig. 401).
(b)
Align the flap hinges with the hinge fittings.
(c)
Install the bolts (19), washers (20) and nuts (17).
(d)
Tighten the nuts to 1300-1500 pound-inches.
(e)
Align the actuator links (9) with the rotary actuators (5).
