(1)
Assemble the transmitter assembly:
(a)
Put the transmitter into the bracket until the inner clamping screw can engage the circumferential groove on the transmitter. 1) Install the transmitter clamping screws.
a) Do not tighten the screws.
(b)
Turn the transmitter until the E|Z (electrical zero) index mark on the transmitter housing aligns with the centerline of the bracket rig pin holes.
(c)
Lightly tighten the transmitter clamping screws.
(d)
Put the transmitter shaft into the crank until the shaft clamping screw can engage circumferential groove on the shaft.
(e)
Install the shaft clamping screw, washer, and nut. 1) Do not tighten the nut.
(f)
Align the index mark on the end of the shaft with the centerline of the rig pin slot in the crank.
(g)
Tighten the shaft clamping screw to 5-10 pound-inches (.56-1.13 Nm).

(2)
Install the transmitter assembly:
(a)
Set the transmitter, the bracket, and the crank assembly to the bracket on the wing rear spar. 1) Install two screws, washers, and nuts.

2) Tighten the nut to 20-30 pound-inches (2.26-3.39 Nm).
(b) Install the screw, washer, and nut that attach the control rod to the crank. 1) Tighten the nut to 5-10 pound-inches (.56-1.13 Nm).

Install the bonding jumper:
(a)
Clean the mating surfaces of the bonding jumper.
(b)
Connect the bonding jumper.
(c)
Use a milliohmmeter to make sure the resistance of the bonding jumper connectin is less than 0.010 ohms.

Install the electrical connector.

Adjust the Spoiler Position Transmitter

(1)
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P6, Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6J21, SPLR/ALRN IND
2) 6J20, SPLR/ALRN SENSOR

Make sure the spoilers are in the neutral position.

(4)
Make sure the speed brake lever is in the DOWN position.

(5)
Install the rig pin through the slot in the crank and the outer rig pin hole of the bracket.

(6)
Do these steps if the indication is out of tolerance:
(a)
Adjust the control rod to its nominal/mid adjustment length.
(b)
Loosen the transmitter clamping screws.
(c)
Turn the transmitter body to get an indication of 0 |0.2 degree on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page.
(d)
Tighten the transmitter clamping screws to 5-10 pound-inches (.56-1.13 Nm). 1) Make sure that you do not turn the body of the transmitter.

(7) S 824-022Adjust the control rod, if it is necessary, to get an indication of 0 |0.2 degree on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page.
(8) S 424-023Install the lockwire on the thumb nut of the control rod.
(9) S 094-022Remove the rig pin from the transmitter assembly.

(10) Do this task: "Trailing Edge Flap Activation" (AMM 27-51-00/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
