Install the Offset Gearbox

Do this task if you install used drive shaft and coupling: "Offset Gearbox Inspection/Check" (Ref 27-81-16/601).

Install the offset gearbox (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove bolts (2 and 10), washers (3 and 11) and nuts (12) to remove the drain (9).
(b)
Lubricate the gears (8) with grease. 1) Fill the gear teeth with grease but not the housing.
(c)
Install the drain with bolts (2 and 10), washers (3 and 11) and nuts (12).
(d)
Align the holes in the gearbox and the structure.
(e)
Apply a layer of the corrosion preventive compound or wet primer to the mounting bolts (4).
(f)
Install three mounting bolts (4), washers (5) and nuts (6).
(g)
If the LE flap system stays in the initial position: 1) Connect the drive shafts. 2) Install the lockwire.
(h)
If the LE flap system is not in the initial position, adjust the LE flap position: 1) Manually extend the LE flaps until the rotary actuators
touch the actuator links.
