(1)
Install the actuator (Fig. 401):
(a)
Connect the actuator (4) to the support bracket with the bolt (1), washer (2), and nut (3).
(b)
Put the bushing (6) in the piston rod end of the actuator.
(c)
Attach the actuator to the idler assembly with the bolt (5), washer (7) and nut (8).

Connect the electrical connector DX432 to the actuator.

Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Do this task: "Pressurize Hydraulic System" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Adjust the actuator:
(a)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close the following circuit breaker: 1) P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
a) 7G6, SPEED BRAKE AUTO CONT
(b)
Put the thrust levers No. 1 and No. 3 to a position of less than 15 degrees.
(c)
Put the speed brake lever in the ARMED position.
(d)
Make sure the actuator moves to the fully extended position.
(e)
Open the following circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
a) 7G6, SPEED BRAKE AUTO CONT

(f) Put the speed brake lever in the DN position. 1) Make sure the actuator stays fully extended.
CAUTION:_______ DO NOT ADJUST THE ACTUATOR PISTON ROD. RETRACT DIMENSIONS ARE SET. THE EXTEND AND
(g) (h) Measure the clearance between the manual and actuator input assembly (Section A-A) 1) Make sure the clearance is 0.03 to 0.06 inch (.76-1.52mm). 2) If the clearance is not in the tolerance, adjust the length of the actuator control rod.Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close the following circuit breakers: 1) P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel a) 7G6, SPEED BRAKE AUTO CONT
(6) S 414-023Install the ceiling panels that were removed (AMM 25-59-01/401).
(7) S 864-018Do this task: "Hydraulic System Depressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(8) S 864-017Do this task: "Remove Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the speed brake control lever lock.

The installation procedure has these parts:
