Tighten the checknut to 2150-2350 pound-inches (243-265Nm).

Loosen the checknut and make sure the parts of the locking device stay engaged correctly.

Tighten the checknut to 2150-2350 pound-inches (243-265Nm).

 1)  Make sure the parts of the locking device stay engaged correctly.

 (d)  
Install the lockwire on the checknut and the locking device.

 (e)  
Clean all grease from the checknut and the locking device with naphtha.

 (f)  
Apply the silicone sealant on the checknut and the locking device.

 (g)  
Lower the spoilers.

Examine the Operation of the Ground Spoiler

Put the speed brake lever in the FLIGHT position.

Make sure the ground spoilers smoothly move to the 20-degree position in less than 1 second.

 WARNING: OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS TO PREVENT THE SPOILER RETRACTION.
_______ IF YOU USE THE SPEED BRAKE LEVER TO LIFT THE SPOILERS, AND IF YOU RELEASE THE PRESSURE IN HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS NO. 1 AND 4, THE SPOILERS WILL AUTOMATICALLY RETRACT. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
