 (b)  Make sure that the multiple flap-primary FLAPS display on the main EICAS comes into view approximately 30 seconds after you moved the flap lever.
 NOTE: The LE flap indicator boxes will look crosshatched white
____ when the flaps start to move. It will change to a white box outline when the flaps are fully retracted.

 (4)  Retract the flaps in the alternate electric mode:
 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE
_______ AND TE FLAPS BEFORE YOU OPERATE THE ALTERNATE FLAPS CONTROL SWITCHES. THE LE AND TE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET SWITCH. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (a)  
Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch on the pilots' center instrument panel to the ALTN position.

 (b)  
Move the ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET switch on the pilot's center instrument panel to the RET position.

 (c)  
Make sure that the multiple flap-alternate FLAPS display on the main EICAS comes into view when the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch is in the ALTN position.

 NOTE: The LE flap indicator boxes will change from solid white
____ to crosshatched white when the flaps start to retract. It will change to a white box outline when the flaps are retracted.
 (d)  
Move the ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET switch to the OFF position when the flaps are fully retracted.

 (e)  
Push the ALTN FLAPS switch to the off position.
