Supply systems No. 1 and 4 hydraulic power (Ref 29-11-00/201).

 D.
Procedure

 S 045-115
 (1)
Do the automatic speed brake system deactivation (AMM 27-62-00/201).

 S 715-109

 (2)
Do a test on the position of the group A LE flaps during the reverse thrust operation.

NOTE: The reverse thrust levers do not control the group B LE
____
 flaps.

 (a)
Make sure the applicable engine START and ENGINE BLEED switches, on the overhead panel, are in the off position.

 (b)
Move the flap control lever to the 5-unit detent to extend the LE flaps.

WARNING: MAKE SURE PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE FLAPS
_______ BEFORE YOU MOVE THE REVERSE THRUST LEVERS. THE ENGINE THRUST REVERSER SLEEVES WILL OPEN IN 1 1/2 SECONDS AND CLOSE IN 4 1/2 SECONDS WHEN YOU OPERATE THE LEVERS. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (c)
Move the No. 3 and 4 reverse thrust lever to the stowed position.

 (d)
Move the No. 1 and 2 levers to the reverse thrust position.

 (e)
Move the flap control lever to the FLAP UP detent and wait for the LE flaps to retract.

 (f)
Move the flap control lever back to the 5-unit detent. 1) Make sure the LE flaps move to the extended position.

 (g)
Move the No. 2 reverse thrust lever to the stowed position. 1) Make sure the LE flaps stay in the extended position.

 (h)
Move the No. 3 lever to the reverse thrust position. 1) Make sure the LE flaps stay in the extended position.

 (i)
Move the No. 1 reverse thrust lever to the stowed position. 1) Make sure the LE flaps stay in the extended position.

 (j)
Move the No. 2 lever to the reverse thrust position. 1) Make sure group A LE flaps retract.

 (k)
Move the No. 1 and 4 levers to the reverse thrust position. 1) Make sure group A LE flaps stay in the retracted position.

 4.  Leading Edge Flap System Adjustment___________________________________
 A.  General
 (1)
The trailing edge (TE) flap drive system must be correctly adjusted before the adjustment of the leading edge (LE) flap system.

 (2)
The variable camber LE flaps are correctly adjusted if these conditions are satisfactory (Fig. 501):

 (a)
Do these checks with the LE flaps retracted pneumatically:

 1)  Make sure the difference between the adjacent flaps and between the flaps and the wing structure is not out of tolerance (Section A-A, D-D, E-E, F-F and G-G).
 2)  Make sure the contour of the LE flap between the flap and wing structure at the centerline of the actuator linkage is not out tolerance (Section G-G).
 3)  Make sure the distances between the adjacent flaps, flap ends and leading edges are not out of tolerance (Sections A-A, D-D, F-F and G-G).
