(5) Open these circuit breakers on the P6 panel and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE
tags:
(a) L RAM MOD
(b) R RAM MOD
(c) RAM MOD CONT

(6) Open the access door to the air conditioning bay.

(7) Remove the access cover from the louver assembly.

(8) Remove the damaged components of the louver assembly:
(a) Remove the cotter pin, nut, and washer from the actuator shaft
and the idler shaft.
(b) Remove the actuator shaft and the idler shaft.
(c) Remove the louver and the spacer washers.
NOTE: The spacer washers are adjacent to the actuator shaft____
bearing.
(d) Remove the bearing assemblies on each side of the louver
assembly.

(9) Install the new components of the louver assembly:
(a) Install the bearing assemblies.
(b) Apply a dry-film lubricant to the bearing assemblies.
NOTE: Do not apply oil or grease to the bearing assemblies.____
(c) Make sure the bearing assembly at the idler shaft has a bushing
in it.
(d) Hold the louver in its position between the bearing assemblies.
(e) Install the spacer washers between the actuator shaft bearing
and the louver.
(f) Install the actuator shaft and the idler shaft through the
louver.
(g) Install a washer and nut on the actuator shaft and the idler
shaft.
(h) Tighten the nuts to 30 pound-inches.
(i) Install a cotter pin on the actuator shaft and the idler shaft.

(10) Make sure the louvers move freely:
(a)
Remove the bolt and cotter pin at the arm of the actuator shaft.
(b)
Move the arm and make sure the louvers move freely.

(c) Install the bolt and cotter pin.

Apply the sealant to the access cover for the louver assembly.

Install the access cover.

Close the access door to the air conditioning bay.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers on the P6 panel:
(a)
L RAM MOD
(b)
R RAM MOD
(c)
RAM MOD CONT

(15) Remove the electrical power if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).
