Tape, Adhesive - Glass Cloth, No. 361, Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company (Ref 20-30-51/201)

 D. Install the Flow Control Valve
 S 984-012
 (1)  Install the valve as follows:
 (a)  
Make sure the flow arrow points at the air exhaust port.

 (b)  
Turn the valve such that the valve does not interfere with the airplane structure.

 (2)  
Loosely install the clamp that attaches the valve to the structure.

 (3)  
Use the solvent to clean the areas of the flange and the duct where you will install the tape.

 (4)
Install the gasket and the V-band clamp to the fixed flange duct.

 (5)  
Tighten the clamp nut to 15 to 20 pound-inches.

 (6)  
Put the gasket in its position.

 (7)  
Move the movable flange in its position and attach the V-band clamp.

Tighten the clamp nut to 15 to 20 pound-inches.

Do these steps to apply the tape:

 (a)  
Apply one layer of the tape to the outer part of the movable flange.

 (b)  
Pull the tape tight and make sure the tape is smooth.

 (c)  
Apply the tape such that the ends of the tape make a 1/2-inch overlap.

 (10) Tighten the clamp that attaches the valve to the structure.
 E. Do a Test of the Flow Control Valve

 (1)  
Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Make sure the seven EQUIPMENT COOLING circuit breakers are closed on the P18 panel.

Increase the pressure in the cabin to 4.0 psi (AMM 05-51-91/201), but do not lock the flow control valve closed.

AIRPLANES WITH FLOW CONTROL VALVES P/N 10-60704-7; Make sure the valve position indicator shows the valve fully closes at a cabin differential pressure between 0.7 and 1.1 psi.

AIRPLANES WITH FLOW CONTROL VALVES P/N 10-60704-1 THRU -6; Make sure the valve position indicator shows the valve fully closes at a cabin differential pressure between 2.0 and 2.8 psi.

Make sure the valve returns to the full open position as the cabin pressure decreases.

 F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Install the floor panel which you removed to get access to the flow control valve.
