C. Procedure

(1) Make sure you install the flexible coupling sleeve and the ring on the ACM connecting ducts.
NOTE: The procedure for the installation of the flexible couplings
____ is different for a new or a used coupling. Make sure you follow the steps to install the flexible coupling correctly (Ref 21-51-61/401).

Lift the ACM into its position and install the three mounting bolts (Detail E, Fig. 401).

ON AIRPLANES WITH A JUMPER ASSEMBLY; Make sure that the bonding resistance between the ACM and the support bracket assembly is a maximum of 0.0025 ohm.

(4) S 984-026Move the compressor inlet duct and the outlet/water separator muff of the turbine ducts into their positions.
(5) S 984-027Move the compressor outlet and the turbine inlet ducts into their positions.
(6) S 214-028Make sure the ACM is aligned with the ducts.
(7) S 824-029Do these steps to align the ACM with the ducts if it is not aligned. (a) Loosen the two index plate bolts that attach the index plate to the support bracket assembly. (b) Add or remove one washer from the aft mounting bolt between the index plate and the support bracket to align the ACM. (c) Tighten the two index plate bolts and the aft mounting nut.
(8) S 434-030Install the flexible coupling assemblies at the compressor inlet, the turbine inlet, and the compressor outlet of the air cycle machine (AMM 21-51-61/401).
(9) S 414-090Put the water separator muff in its position.

Install the water separator muff clamp (AMM 21-51-61/401).

Install the clamp that connects the water separator muff and the duct from the 35°F control valve.
