Open the access doors to the air conditioning bay and the ram air duct.

Remove the louver assembly:
(a)
Cut the lockwire and remove the two spring pins which hold the universal joint of the torque shaft to the arm (Fig. 401, Detail B).
(b)
Loosen the clamp and disconnect the flexible duct from the duct.
(c)
Remove the cover.
(d)
Remove the screws (20 locations) that attach the louver assembly to the airplane.
(e)
Remove the bolts which hold the torque shaft sections together.
NOTE: To make sure the bolt holes are aligned correctly, make
____ a mark on the torque shaft.

(f) Push the torque shaft sections together to disconnect the universal joint from the arm.
NOTE: Hold the torque shaft sections together with a piece of

tape.
(g)
Hold the louver assembly while you remove the bolts (12 locations) that attach the duct collar to the web.
(h)
Remove the louver assembly.

(1) Install the louver assembly:
(a)
Hold the louver assembly in its position while you install the bolts (12 locations) loosely through the duct collar and the web.
(b)
Install the screws (20 locations) that attach the louver assembly to airplane.
(c)
Install the cover.
(d)
Tighten the bolts that attach the duct collar to the web.
(e)
Connect the flexible duct to the duct and install the clamp.
