RAM AIR INLET MODULATION PANEL - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure removes and installs the modulation panel for the ram air inlet.

D. Prepare to Remove the Modulation Panel from the Ram Air Inlet

Disconnect the ram air actuator from the torque shaft quadrant (Ref 21-52-11/401).

Remove the access panel 1305 or 1302.
E. Remove the Modulation Panel for the Ram Air Inlet
S 024-005
(1) Do these steps to remove the modulation panel (Fig./401):
(a) Remove the seven screws from the hinge at the forward end of the modulation panel assembly.

(b) Do the steps that follow to put the modulation panel assembly in the adjustment position: 1) Turn the modulation panel quadrant until you can install
the rig pins.
2) If you cannot turn the modulation panel quadrant, do the steps that follow: a) Install the shop aid in the inboard end of the
modulation shaft.
NOTE: This causes the shop aid to engage the
____ quadrant attach pin.
b) Turn the shop aid with a wrench.
NOTE: This turns the inlet.

(c)
Point the forward panel section of the modulation panel assembly out.
(d)
Remove the eight bolts, nuts, and washers from the panel assembly hinge.
(e)
Remove the forward panel section.
(f)
Move the aft panel section forward until the tracks disengage from the rollers.
(g)
Remove the inlet modulation panel from the inlet opening.

3. Install the Modulation Panel for the Ram Air Inlet

(1) If the modulation panel is not in the adjustment position, do the steps that follow:
(a) Turn the modulation panel quadrant until you can install the rig pins.
