WATER SEPARATOR COALESCER (BAG) - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. The water separator coalescer (bag) is around the bag support.
B. The bag is attached at each end by a bead chain assembly and two springs.

2. Water Separator Bag Removal (Fig. 401)

214 Right Air Conditioning Equipment Bay
B. Prepare for the Removal
S 014-001
(1) Lower the equipment bay doors for the air conditioning.
C. Remove the Water Separator Bag

Remove the duct clamp at the aft end of the water separator.

(2)
Remove the clamp that holds the shell assembly of the water separator to the collector chamber.

Remove the support bracket clamp of the water separator.

Remove the shell assembly with the bag support and the bag:
(a) Lower the assembly until it is clear of the collector chamber then remove the assembly from the equipment bay.
NOTE: Be careful when you lower the assembly to prevent damage
____ to the O-ring and gasket.

Remove the chain retaining ring that is spring loaded from the aft end of the bag.
(6)
Remove the bag from the bag support.

3. Water Separator Bag Installation (Fig. 401)

D. Procedure

(1)
If the bag is new, you can not install the retaining spring-chain through the hem at large diameter end of the bag.

(2)
On the bags without the spring-chain, a string is supplied for the installation of the spring-chain.

Tie one end of the chain to the string and pull the chain through the hem.

(4)
Attach the ends of the chain together with the spring.
(5)
Remove the string.
(6)
Make sure that the louvers of the bag support are clean.
(7)
Move the new bag over the support and install the retaining ring.
