Add new oil until you see it through the overflow holes found in the dipstick fitting.
NOTE: The oil capacity of the turbofan is approximately
____ 4.5 deciliters (0.96 pint).
(c) After a few minutes, do a check that the oil level is above the ADD mark on the dipstick.
NOTE: It will take a few minutes until the oil flows into
____ the passages of the turbofan and the oil level becomes stable.
(d)
If the oil level is not above the ADD mark on the dipstick, do the two previous steps again until the oil level is satisfactory.
(e)
Install the dipstick.
G. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

TURBOFAN - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. There are two turbofans, one for each ram air system. They are found in the air conditioning equipment bay in the ram air exhaust ducts aft and inboard of the pack heat exchangers.
NOTE: Blade wear is not sufficient reason to remove the turbo fan
____ impeller as it does not normally hurt turbo fan operations.
B. The air conditioning equipment bay will be refered to as the A/C equipment bay.

2. Remove the Turbofan

B. Prepare to Remove the Turbofan

Open the applicable A/C access panel 3304 or 3404.

Drain the oil from the turbofan.
C. Remove the Turbofan

(1) Do the steps that follow to remove the turbofan:
(a)
Remove the turbine air duct which is found below the turbofan.
(b)
Do these steps to remove the flexible duct: 1) Loosen the clamps at each end of the flexible duct. 2) Move the clamps off the flexible duct. 3) Pull the flexible duct off the turbofan.

4) Pull the flexible duct off the exhaust louver elbows. 5) Remove the flexible duct.
(c)
Loosen the clamp at the forward end of the turbofan.
(d)
Put the clamp on the ram air duct.
(e)
Remove the outboard mounting bolt.
(f)
Let the turbofan slowly turn down on the inboard mounting bolt.
(g)
Remove the inboard mounting bolt.
(h)
Remove the turbofan from the airplane.
