DUCT OVERHEAT SWITCHES - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are four overheat switches for the cabin.
B. There is a 190°F (88°C) and a 250°F (121°C) switch for each control system.
C. The switch installations are almost the same and are in the primary and the overhead distribution mainfolds.
D. Access to the switches is through the aft bulkhead of the forward cargo compartment and the overhead ceiling panel.

C. Prepare for the Removal

(1) Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
(a) P6-4 panel
1) OVERHEAT

(2) Get access to the duct overheat switches on the main distribution manifold for the control cabin:
(a) Remove the center panel of the aft bulkhead in the forward cargo compartment.

(3) Get access to the duct overheat switches on the overhead distribution manifold for the passenger cabin:
(a) Remove the overhead ceiling panels (Ref 25-21-45/401).
D. Remove the Duct Overheat Switch

(1)
FOR THE 250°F (121°C) OVERHEAT SWITCH; Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch.

(2)
FOR THE 190°F (88°C) OVERHEAT SWITCH; Cut the wire at the splice and disconnect the wire from the switch.
(3)
Remove the screws that attach the switch to the duct.
