E. Prepare for the Tests

Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Open the access doors to the air conditioning bays.

Get access to the duct overheat switches for the control cabin:
(a) Remove the aft bulkhead lining in the forward cargo compartment (Ref 25-52-81/401).

(4) Get access to the duct overheat switches for the passenger cabin:
(a) Remove the overhead ceiling panels in the passenger cabin which are near the forward edge of the right wing on the airplane (Ref 25-21-45/401).

Make sure that the RECIRC FAN, L PACK and R PACK switches are set to OFF, on the P5-10 panel.

Make sure that all the circuit breakers are closed on the P6-3 panel and the P6-4 panel.

Move the LIGHTS switch momentarily to the TEST position, on the P2-1 panel.

Make sure these lights come on and then go off:
(a)
DUCT OVERHEAT lights on the P5-17 panel
(b)
MASTER CAUTION and AIR COND annunciator lights on the P7 panel
F. Manual Mode Test - Temperature Control System (Control Cabin)

Disconnect the electrical connector, D486, from the left pack valve.
(2)
Move the L PACK switch to AUTO or HIGH, on the P5-10 panel.

Move the CONT CABIN temperature selector switch to MANUAL OFF, on the P5-17 panel.

(4) S 215-013Make sure the indicator needle of the CONT CABIN - AIR MIX VALVE indicator aligns with the inner mark at COLD, on the P5-17 panel.
NOTE:____ This will show that the air mix valve is in the full cold position.
(a) Adjust the position transmitter of the air mix valve if the indicator needle does not align with the inner mark at COLD (Ref 21-61-71/501).
(5) S 215-014Make sure the position of the visual indicator on the left air mix valve agrees with the CONT CABIN - AIR MIX VALVE indicator.
(6) S 865-015Move the CONT CABIN temperature selector switch to MANUAL WARM.
NOTE:____ This will cause the air mix valve to move toward the full hot position.
(7) S 215-016Make sure that the indicator needle of the CONT CABIN - AIR MIX VALVE indicator moves to the inner mark at HOT.
NOTE:____ This will show that the air mix valve is in the full hot position.
(8) S 865-017Move the CONT CABIN temperature selector switch to MANUAL COOL.
NOTE:____ This will cause the air mix valve to move toward the full cold position.
(9) S 215-018Make sure that the indicator needle of the CONT CABIN - AIR MIX VALVE indicator moves to the inner mark at COLD.
NOTE:____ This will show that the air mix valve is in the full cold position.

Move the CONT CABIN temperature selector switch to MANUAL OFF.

(11)
Move the L PACK switch to OFF.
