 A.  This procedure has one task to clean the conditioned air control components in the passenger cabin and the control cabin.

 2.  Clean the Conditioned Air Control Temperature Sensing Components (Fig. 701)________________________________________________________________
 A.  Standard Tools and Equipment
 (1)  
Soft bristle brush

 (2)  
Blunt-ended metal rod, approximately 1/16 inch diameter, 2-5 inches long.

 (3)  
Filter Material - Scott Filter Foam, 3/16 inch thickness, porosity grade 45 PPI, color - grey, flame retardant, Scott Paper Co. (Foam Div), 1500 E. 2nd St., Chester, PA


 B.  Consumable Materials
 (1)  Detergents
 NOTE: Use one of these detergents (Ref 20-30-31/201):

B00029 - Brulin Formula 815 MX - diluted 8 to 1 with water

 (b)  
B00043 - NRG plus No. 678 - diluted as required with water


 (2)  
B00130 - Isopropyl Alchohol TT-I-735

 (3)  
G00034 - Clean and dry cheesecloth or cotton cloths and lint-free tissue

 E. Prepare for the Cleaning
 S 027-042
 (1)  At the air inlet to the passenger cabin temperature sensor, do these steps to remove the grille and filter:
 (a)  
Put the metal rod into the hole at the edge of the grille until the spring catch releases.

 (b)  
Remove the grille and the filter.


 S 037-005
 (2)  On the control cabin temperature sensor, do these steps:
 (a)  
Remove the fasteners from the grille.

 (b)  
Remove the grille and the filter.


 S 037-006
 (3)  
Remove the temperature sensor and/or the temperature bulb
 (Ref 21-61-31/401 and/or 21-62-25/401).

 (4)  
Remove the passenger cabin temperature sensor fan
 (Ref 21-61-34/401).

 (5)
Remove the control cabin temperature sensor (Ref 21-61-61/401).

 (6)
Remove the control cabin temperature sensor fan (Ref 21-61-64/401).


 F. Clean the Components
 S 117-031
 (1)  Do these steps to clean the temperature bulb, the temperature sensor, and the temperature sensor probes:
 (a)  
Clean the components with a cloth that is moist with the detergent solution.

 (b)  
Clean the components with the isopropyl alcohol if the contamination continues to occur on the components.


 NOTE: Clean the components again with the detergent solution
____ after you use the isopropyl alcohol.
