Heat the sensor probe to a temperature of 230|15°F (110 to 118°C).

 (c)  
AIRPLANES WITH RAM AIR EXHAUST LOUVERS (PRE-SB 21-1123); Make sure that the inlet modulation panels and the exhaust louvers open.

 (d)  
AIRPLANES WITHOUT RAM AIR EXHAUST LOUVERS (POST-SB 21-1123); Make sure that the inlet modulation panels open.

 (e)  
Make sure that the RAM DOOR FULL OPEN lights come on.

 (f)  
Make sure that the deflector doors stay closed.

 (g)  
Remove the heat.

 (h)  
Let the sensors cool.

 (i)  
AIRPLANES WITH RAM AIR EXHAUST LOUVERS (PRE-SB 21-1123); Make sure that the inlet modulation panels and the exhaust louvers close.

 (j)  
AIRPLANES WITHOUT RAM AIR EXHAUST LOUVERS (POST-SB 21-1123); Make sure that the inlet modulation panels close.

 (k)  
Make sure that the RAM DOOR FULL OPEN lights go out.

 (l)  
Install the 230°F control sensors in the compressor discharge duct of the air cycle machines (AMM 21-52-12/401).

 (17) Do a test of the 230°F control sensor using the Digital Multimeter:
 (a)  
Open the access door for the ram air duct.

 (b)  
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:


 1)  On the main power distribution panel, P6: a) 6E1, AIR COND RAM MOD RIGHT b) 6E2, AIR COND RAM MOD LEFT

 (c)  Disconnect the electrical connector D970 (D972) from the left
 (right) ram air temperature controller.
 NOTE: The ram air temperature controller is located on the____
 inboard side of the keel beam and near the ram air
 actuator.
 (d)  Go to the ECS bay and measure the ambient temperature adjacent
 to the Ram Air Sensor.
 (e)  Write down the temperature.
 (f)  Connect the digital multimeter between electrical connector
 D970 (D972), pins 6 and 7 for the left (right) ram air
 temperature controller.
 (g)  Write down the resistance in Kohms that you measure.
 (h)  Find the temperature on Fig. 502 that is nearest to the
 temperature that you wrote down.
 (i)  Compare the permitted range of resistance for that temperature
 to the resistance you wrote down.
 (j)  If the resistance is out of range, replace the sensor
 (AMM 21-52-13/401).
 (k)  Connect the electrical connector D970 (D972) to the left
 (right) ram air temperature controller.
 (l)  Close these circuit breakers and remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
