(b)
Install the lower end of the shaft assembly through the hole found in the lower part of the structure.
(c)
Pull the deflector shaft assembly up and put the top end of the deflector shaft assembly in the upper support.
(d)
Do the steps that follow to install the lower support: 1) Put the lower support in the correct position. 2) Tighten the nuts on the upper and lower supports. 3) Turn the deflector shaft.
NOTE: If too much friction occurs, do the steps that
____
follow:
a) Loosen the nuts on the upper and the lower supports. b) Put the upper and the lower supports in a position which decreases the friction. c) Tighten the nuts on the upper and the lower supports.
(e) Do the steps that follow to install the drive arm on the deflector shaft: 1) Put the drive arm on the deflector shaft in the correct
position. 2) Put the pins in the primer. 3) Install the pins in the holes in the drive arm.
NOTE: This will keep the drive arm on the deflector shaft.

4) Put a lockwire on the pins.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT ADJUST THE EXTENSION LINK. IT IS A CARTRIDGE WHICH CANNOT BE ADJUSTED. THE EXTENSION LINK HAS A SET LENGTH OF 10.75 INCHES. IF YOU ADJUST IT, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(f)
Install the extension link on the drive arm.
(g)
Make sure the deflector is in the adjustment position:
1) Turn the modulation panel quadrant until you can install the rig pins.

2) If you cannot turn the modulation panel quadrant, do the steps that follow: a) Install the shop aid in the inboard end of the
modulation shaft.
NOTE: The shop aid will engage the quadrant attach
____ pin.
b) Turn the shop aid with a wrench.
NOTE: This turns the inlet.

(h)
Do a check that the track rollers on the shaft assembly are not more than 0.60 inches from the stops on the inlet deflector.
(i)
If the track rollers are more than 0.60 inches from the deflector stops, do the step that follows: 1) Adjust the adjustable link until the distance between the
track rollers and the deflector stops is not more than 0.60 inches.
NOTE: Make sure you increase the length of the
____ extension link when you adjust the adjustable link.
F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Remove the rig pins.

Install the bolts through the skin and the frame of the ram air inlet.
(3)
Install the access panel 1305 or 1302.
(4)
Install the deflector in the ram air inlet (AMM 21-52-21/401).
