 (1400-2100 kPa) to the open end tube of the VBV. When
 the VBV system opens, it must move smoothly and freely.
 It must start to open at 70 psi (450 kPa). It must
 continue until it gets to the stop position. A fast
 change in the gage pressure to a higher value is an
 indication of the stop position.
 (f)  Do a check for leaks at each fuel tube connection.
 NOTE: No leakage is permitted.____
 (g)  Do a leak check after you replace an o-ring.
 (h)  Operate the VBV system to the close door position.
 NOTE: To do this, keep a pressure of 200-300 psi____
 (1400-2100 kPa) to the close end tube of the VBV.
 (i)  Release the pressure.
 (j)  Disconnect the hydraulic cart supply and the return hoses from
 the VBV open and closed end tubes.

(k) Remove the caps from the MEC fittings.
 (l) Connect the coupling nut on the VBV open end to the MEC OPEN
 fitting.
 (m) Tighten it to 270-300 pound-inches (30.5-33.9 Newton meters).
 (n) Connect the coupling nut of the VBV closed end to the MEC CLOSE
 fitting.
 (o) Tighten it to 270-300 pound-inches (30.5-33.9 Newton meters).

 (17) Install the inner extension duct.

 CAUTION: DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MATING SURFACES OF THE STRUT FARING._______
 DO NOT REMOVE THE SEALS BETWEEN THE MATING SURFACES OF THE
 STRUT FARING.
 ú  (18) Install and seal the 9 o'clock strut fairing as follows:

 ú  NOTE: BMS5-63 primer and sealant is necessary to give sufficient____
 ú  fire protection for the extension ring and fairing. Sealant
 ú  DC 93-006-1 is necessary to fill the crack between the
 ú  fairing and the support structure for aerodynamic smoothness.
 ú
 (a) Remove the used sealant from the faring and the mating surfaces
 on the extension ring and fan frame strut.
 ú 
        ú
 WARNING: DO NOT GET METHYL ETHYL KETONE (MEK) IN YOUR MOUTH, OR_______
 ú  EYES, OR ON YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE
 ú  MEK. PUT ON A RESPIRATOR, PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLES, AND
 ú  GLOVES WHEN YOU USE THE MEK. KEEP THE MEK AWAY FROM
 ú  SPARKS, FLAME AND HEAT. MEK IS A POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE
 ú  SOLVENT WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO
 ú  EQUIPMENT.

 ú  (b) Clean the mating surfaces of the extension ring and the strut
 ú  fairing with MEK.
 ú  1) Rub the surfaces dry.
