(e)  Examine the support tubes to see if they are too loose in the
 nose caps.
 1)  If they are not serviceable, replace the cable
 (AMM 75-31-02/401).
 (f)  Examine the support tubes for damage, dents or bends.
 1)  No damage, dents or bends are permitted.
 2)  If they are not serviceable, replace the cable
 (AMM 75-31-02/401).
 NOTE:____ They are not serviceable if a limit to the end
 fitting/inner member travel is caused.
 (g)  Examine the cable attach brackets for bends or cracks.
 1)  No bends or cracks are permitted.
 2)  If it is not serviceable, replace the bracket.
 (h)  Examine the cable attach clamps for damage or wear.
 1)  No damage or wear is permitted.
 2)  If it is not serviceable, replace the clamp.
 (i)  Examine the cable fixed flange for bends or cracks.
 1)  No bends or cracks are permitted.
 2)  If it is not serviceable, replace the cable
 (AMM 75-31-02/401).

 A.  This procedure contains the task to partially clean the variable stator vane (VSV) feedback cable without removing the assembly from the engine.

 WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO OPEN THE THRUST
_______ REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
 (1)  
Open the left thrust reverser half (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 (2)  
Do these steps to disasssemble the VSV feedback cable (AMM 75-31-02/401):


 (a)  At the aft side of the MEC, do these steps: 1) Disconnect the cable rod end from the MEC. 2) Remove the rod end bearing and jamnut from the end of the
 cable. 3) Remove the nose end cap assembly. 4) Remove the cable from the first bracket closest to the MEC.
