(j)  If you adjusted the stage 3 tie rod(s), install a lockwire and sealant, and show that you did a rigging change (CFMI SB 72-066). 1) Wind the lockwire two times around the rod end of the
 connecting link clevis (just above the jamnut).
 NOTE: Make sure the wire ends are pigtailed, cut,

 and folded.

 2) Apply the sealant to the wires and pigtail.
 (k)  
Remove the posts, pins and rigging plates from the forward stator case of the HPC.

Remove the rigging pins from the VSV bellcrank assemblies.

 (1)  
Open the right thrust reverser half (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 (2)  
Install the VSV position transmitter 856A2001 (Fig. 502) and bracket as follows:


 (a)  Remove the No. 5 and No. 8 bolts that attach the compressor case to the fan frame.
 NOTE: You will find the bolts below the horizontal divide line
____ on the right side of the compressor forward flange.
 (b)  
Attach the end of the transducer that does not move to the bracket with the connector in the forward direction.

 (c)  
Install the bracket on the aft side of the flange at the No. 5 and No. 8 bolt holes with the bolts. 1) Tighten the bolts to 210-220 pound-inches

 (23.7-24.9 Newton meters).

 (d)  
Remove the nut from the bridge connector of the stage 1 actuation link where the stage 1 tie rod attaches to it.

 (e)  
Put the link on the aft side of the stage 1 bridge connector and install the nut. 1) Tighten the nut to 55-70 pound-inches

 (6.2-7.9 Newton meters).

 (f)  
Attach the rod end of the transducer to the link with the nut and bolt. 1) Tighten the nut on the rod end to 55-70 pound-inches


 (6.2-7.9 newton meters). 2) Tighten the bolt on the end that does not move to 32-37 pound-inches (3.6-4.2 Newton meters).

 (3)  Install the position/N2 transmitter indicator 856A1214 for the VSV (Fig. 502).
 (a)  AIRPLANES WITHOUT THE EIS SYSTEM; For engine No. 1, open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) P6 Load Control Center
