 (6)  
ENGINES WITH CFMI SB 72-426; Attach the bleed valve to the air diffuser with a V-band clamp and self-locking nut.

 (7)  
Install the elbow on the bleed valve as follows:

 (a)  
Install the jamnut on the elbow fitting.

 1)  Turn the jamnut until it is farther than the O-ring groove and on the second section of the threads.

 (b)  
Lubricate the first section of threads and the O-ring groove
 with petrolatum.


 (c)  
Install a new O-ring in the groove even with the second section of threads.

 (d)  
Turn the jamnut until it lightly touches the O-ring.

 (e)  
Turn the elbow into the air signal port until the O-ring
 immediately touches the countersunk surface of the valve.


 (f)  
Adjust the elbow fitting to point to the air signal tube.

Loosely connect the air signal tube to the fitting on the elbow.

 (9)  
Turn the air signal port 25-30 degrees from the valve center line in the clockwise direction.


 NOTE: The 5th stage start bleed valve must be turned 25-30 degrees
____
 clockwise from the center line for sufficient clearance
 between the valve elbow fitting and the thrust link.

 (10) ENGINES WITHOUT CFMI SB 72-426; Tighten the V-band clamps to 55-70 pound-inches (6.3-8.0 Newton meters) (AMM 70-20-02/201).
 (a)  Safety the clamp nuts together with a lockwire.

 ENGINES WITH CFMI SB 72-426; Tighten the V-band clamps to 55-70 pound-inches (6.3-8.0 Newton meters).

 Make sure the torque on the bolts that attach the strap across the air diffuser tube is 55-70 pound-inches (6.3-8.0 Newton meters).

 Tighten the jamnut that attaches the elbow to the bleed valve to 180-200 pound-inches (20.5-22.7 Newton meters).
